Trident and all:
After some consideration, I will allow hyperbullet (1/2x+0).
Confirming:
— No 1/4+0
— No 0+1
And allowed
— 1/2+0
— 0+2
— 1/4+1
Etc...

Hi @Jesse10, I'm curious whether performances from tournaments such as the on going 960 tournament could count towards title applications, or is it strictly just public tournaments?
But if so, how many rounds would have to be played?

Unfortunately I can’t count these types of tournaments (don’t know how to describe them) for a few main reasons;

  1. I don’t know the lichess formula for performance. I could and have made rough estimates, but without the EXACT formula it would be unfair to award norms.
  2. In tournaments like these (maybe I can call them scheduling tournaments actually), you get lots of time (even if you can’t use it the time is hypothetically there for use) to prepare. Part of the point of norms is that you are tested rounded, Agzinst players you know well and some you don’t. At least that’s what I try to achieve.
  3. The only exception is AWC. The winner gets auto-ATGM. The reason is because I think:
    a. The calibre of AWC, especially in RO16 onwards, is so high that winning is deserved enough and,
    b. The AWC needs legitimacy. People who win should be GrNdmasters - they won the World Championship after all

I hope this answers your question; if you guys want me to look into incorporating high-calibre community-orgAnised tournaments, let me know.

Hmm, I see.
I'll look into the problems. It feels wrong for major community tournaments to not contribute to norms since not only is the average player level in such tournaments much higher the tournament is much more professional.
