Why aren't we allowed to put emojis in forums?

We can send links, mention people and even send images. But we can't send Emoji's? Why?

Yes, it was out of hand and annoying to scroll through.

I still don't understand what this thread is talking about.

I give other posters emojis pretty often.

Indeed, just to illustrate, I just now gave @Dukedog a "heart" emoji. Scroll up to see I'm not just pretending!

I wasn't prevented from doing that.

For what more does anybody wish, with respect to emojis?

No I actually agree I think there should be--
But I think they thought it would get to silly which is probably--
Maybe - and probably people spammed them a lot:
--
I think that is the main reason -- howeeeeeeeeever
much more logical thing would be:
Just set a limit to 3-5 emojis or something per post right?

Who is going to freak out over 5 hearts? :-)

And-- fun tidbit about emojis--
Science shows higher EQ is associaed with use of emojis:

This a rundown:

"Scientific studies, particularly from PLOS One, suggest that frequent emoji use is associated with higher emotional intelligence (EQ), not necessarily general cognitive intelligence. People who use more emojis are better at identifying, understanding, and managing emotions, which helps build stronger, more empathetic, and thoughtful relationships.
Sci.News

"Emotional Intelligence Focus: The research indicates that higher EQ allows people to effectively use emojis to convey nuanced, nonverbal emotional cues in text, similar to real facial expressions.

"Relationship Building: Using emojis makes individuals appear more responsive and caring, enhancing social connection.
Contextual Differences: While frequent usage often correlates with positive social traits, some studies suggest that high-volume, potentially "over-the-top" emoji use can be interpreted differently, with some nuances potentially signaling a desire to manage social perceptions.

"Gender and Usage: Research shows varying usage patterns between genders, though the link to emotional intelligence remained a strong finding.

"In summary, frequent emoji usage is linked to better emotional regulation and social awareness rather than standard IQ metrics."
