You're willing to run an app from the Microsoft app store, but you're not willing to view a Microsoft web site? Sheesh.

You're willing to run an app from the Microsoft app store, but you're not willing to view a Microsoft web site? Sheesh.

The official windows app for Lichess is called "Mozilla Firefox". It lacks an automated installer but it works well. Here are the instructions for a working setup:

  1. install "Mozilla Firefox" through the microsoft store
  2. launch the app, click the burger menu in the top right corner, go to "extensions and themes", and install "Ublock Origin"
  3. in the top right burger menu click settings, then Home. In "Homepage and new windows" select "Custom URL" and input https://lichess.org

You'll find that the Lichess app is also a good web browser!
