I really enjoy playing blindfold chess with friends, and would love to be able to continue that enjoyment in the online playing pool. Lichess used to have the option to turn the pieces invisible, effectively rendering the game a blindfold one. However the problem with this is that you still get paired with players using the regular settings, at your regular playing strength. This can only result in some form of artificial sandbagging, which is not allowed and might have even been the reason for why Lichess removed this feature (at least I cannot find it anymore).
I therefore propose Lichess make a new variant for blindfolded play.

That is true. However one handles time trouble very differently in blindfold mode compared to when playing with regular pieces. This discourages me from playing the quicker time controls like blitz and bullet. And blitz is the one I am most interested in, so...
