The first classical event of the 2026 Grand Chess Tour have being place in Romania with 10 elite players facing each other in a round robin format. The line up is formed by: Candidates winner Javokhir Sindarov, US Champ Ffabiano Caruana, Candidates runner-up Anish Giri, The top 7, 8 and 9 of the world Vincent Keymer, Alireza Firouzja & Wesley So, 2 european top guys as MVL & Van Foreest, Olimpiad winner Praggnanandhaa and the local hero and Rumania nº1 Bodgan-Daniel Deac. Each day i going to analyze the best games of the round.

Only Funny Game

The round 3 wasn't the most amazing with 3 solid draws and a win of Giri against a poor Firouzja but at least we had this good attack of Van Foreest against the weakest player of the field Deac.

Van Foreest with this victory along with Giri catches the leaders Keymer MVL and Pragg who wons in the Round 2.
With 5 players with 2/3 the tournament is open, follow me to see how continues cause each day i going to analyze the best games of the round. Bye bye
