PRAGG ENDS SINDAROV'S STREAK. Romania GCT R2 Analysis
The first classical event of the 2026 Grand Chess Tour have being place in Romania with 10 elite players facing each other in a round robin format. The line up is formed by: Candidates winner Javokhir Sindarov, US Champ Ffabiano Caruana, Candidates runner-up Anish Giri, The top 7, 8 and 9 of the world Vincent Keymer, Alireza Firouzja & Wesley So, 2 european top guys as MVL & Van Foreest, Olimpiad winner Praggnanandhaa and the local hero and Rumania nº1 Bodgan-Daniel Deac. Each day i going to analyze the best games of the round.
The Streak is Over
With his victories in the world cup and the candidates added to an unbeat Tata Steel and the last 8 rounds of the grand swiss, Sindarov had a streak of 53 games without a loss.
Pragg suffered 2 loses against Sindarov in the candidates and both with a piece sacrifice by Sinda, this time we have another pieces sacrifice but with a different result.

Great positional victory by Keymer pushing slow but straight.
