If the black king moves 31...Kxg7 instead, I move 32. Rf7+. At this point, it doesn’t matter whether black moves 32...Kf8 or 32...Kg8 because it would get checkmated on white’s next move: 33. Qxf7#.
I think there may be a typo or two in these two sentences. If your rook is on f7, then I don't think the black king could move to f8 because it would be in check there. And regardless of which move the black king makes, Qxf7 does not work because your own rook is still there. I suspect what you meant is below (changed to Kh8 and Qxh7#):
