Indeed, while modern theory and engine analysis suggest that the King's Indian, Pirc, and Modern Defense grant the opponent certain advantages—which is why they rarely appear in top-level competitions—for low-to-intermediate level players and beginners, these system openings require little memorization of move orders or deep opening theory, allowing them to quickly break through plateaus

if black plays d6 in the modern, doesn't it just transpose into the pirc?
Also isn't the pirc basically the KID against 1. e4?
All these openings are basically the same.

Yes. You are right. These opening moves can be transposed into one another!

Just switch to 960. You can play an unbalanced defence without risking a defeat in the opening through prep.

Bro u dont understand chess, I am pretty sure. In the KID game obviously f4 is a good move to play g5 g4 g3. Why would he ever open up the position to attack on the flank>?????//

I would not recommend any of these openings to anyone not advanced at chess. These are hard to play well.

Personally I think that playing these to avoid opening theory is laughable. You have to know how to deal with countless attack patterens that white can choose from.
