Black set up is not good, in this line there must be a black pawn watching to the "d5" square, typically by pushing ...c6 or even ...Be6, Bxe6 fxe6. Letting a white knight coming to d5 leaves black too passive...
Maybe I'm wrong, but for me the idea of Bxf6 makes sense only because black doesn't have 13... 0-0 which would solve all his problems. Later he could move Rfe8 instead of Nd7. Truly the problem of e5's Pirc.
