I guess it's lucky he (magnus) didn't smash all the pieces in his last game, that was very funny to watch.
Also I can't see a game in the blog for Finals Game 3.

Congrats Magnus and Bibisara!
Congrats Magnus and Bibisara!
I really thought Magnus had no chance after some painful losses, just goes to show how good this guy is under the highest pressure.

Seriously, why do they have to do the knockout in the Blitz? Arjun Erigaisi was so dominant, only to be one of four qualifiers for the title. They didn't have this over the last couple of years and invented it last year. This format, once again, favours Carlsen. For some reason he won the Rapid pretty clean, no knockouts after this. But we have to see a knockout of the best four in the Blitz, where he simply was not the best player if you just look at the regular turnament. A mix of Swiss and knockouts sounds so dumb to me, especially when they only do it in one of these tournaments. He profits so much from some rules that don't make sense to me. Remember when he won in 2023 because Dubov and Nepo were given a 0-0 in their game? And then Carlsen wins the tournament with 0,5 points ahead of Dubov. Lucky him, his first tirbreaker was worse, so if Dubov had this half of a point more on his sheet, Dubov would have been the winner. I can accept that Carlsen is (by his highest ELO) the best player in history, but it gets really annoying when he is clearly underperforming an still wins because tiebreaks or weird point rulings or unneccesary knockouts all work in his favor.
Btw, where is the "This guy stinks"-Meme when you need it?

Congrats to both of them for becoming World 'Chmps'
In all seriousness, they both did a great job at the tournament.

if magnus won, why is arjun 1st place in the standings? arjun is a whole point above second place and 1.5pts above magnus according to those images showing the standings. who won?
