Hobart Weekend Tournament
Australian ChessI'm currently playing in a tournament over the late summer long weekend in Hobart, the capital city of Tasmania. In a fairly even field, I am on 4/5 with one game to go. This sits me in equal second, half a point from the leader, Adrian Flitney who has previously won the state championship.
It's a busy weekend for chess in Australia. There are tournaments in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide as well as the Oceania Zonal.
I'm pretty tired and am struggling to write much. As I get older, these events drain my energy and I'm usually exhausted for a week. I'll post more in a day or two, but here's a position to look at.

This endgame position happened on board 1 in the fifth round. Fabian Ivancic is White vs Adrian Flitney, two of Tasmania's top players. It is White to move. Do you think you are trying to win or save the game? What do you think you would play? How confident would you be playing either colour with less than 2 minutes on the clock plus a 30 seconds increment per move?
