Wonderful review! Thank you for this.

I would also add Theorethical Rook Endgames by Sam Shankland, and Conceptual Rook Endgames by Jacob Aagard, but other than that well done. :)

Nice list. I'm actually looking at endgame books right now.
Apart from the ones mentioned in the article, these books made it to my shortlist:
- Understanding Chess Endgames by Nunn
- Mastering Endgame Strategy by Hellsten
- Fundamental Chess Endings by Müller & Lamprecht
- Domination in 2545 endgame studies by Kasparyan
- Endgame Tactics by Van Perlo

I would also include Fundamental Chess Endings by Karsten Müller and Frank Lamprecht. Also most of John Nunn’s endgame books. And Practical Chess Endings by Keres. Nunn’s Pawnless Endgames has excellent chapters on many fascinating endgames, including many that you might actually get! Rook and Bishop vs Rook, Queen vs Rook, Rook vs Bishop, Rook vs Knight, &c.

I own De la Villa's, Silman's and Pandolfini's Endgame Course. I'd recommend any of these three for beginners, but I'm especially fond of Pandolfin's, since it's one-endgame-per-page structure makes it in my opinion the easiest one to follow without a board in front of you. In bed, for example ;D.
