Castling in Chess Is Overrated

This was legitimately well done. I can't imagine someone working harder to pull off an April Fool's prank.

I also worked hard, but published my April Fool's prank at a wrong time. If you are interested, please look at my blog Revolutionize Lichess.

I was enjoying your arguments and was just about to complain that you did not add the "Includes promoted/sponsored content or referral links" checkbox on your blog when you are so overtly advertising chocolate milk when I realized it's an April Fool's joke. Or is it... ?

When I was playing the "O'Sullivan System" (copyright me circa 2024) I was playing e3 followed by Nf3, hoping to induce e4 and a White version of the Alekhine. Often the resulting positions had a "diamond" of pawns and king in the center, while the game was firing on all cylinders on the flanks. And in those positions, the king was unexpectedly safe, without any need for castling.

Now, I am a total noob, so maybe the safety of the centralized king was an illusion, but I found the positions intriguing to say the least. Maybe there is something there.

Yes, I've just realized I messed it up by putting it twice.
