Safari 17.5 "freezing" issue - is it still happening with 17.6

good that you want to solve it but it does not affect playing and there is a problem that should have much higher priority, moving the move list back to where it was.

GUI view when playing rounds. My pics are from analysis mode, as I never play otherwise. I am sorry if my previous things are off-topic. I thought it was maybe related. There might be cross interactions, though. With the connection issue. IDK. Too lazy to make a new thread. They rarely get any response. So I find it might be more economical for all, to have more centralized but perhaps more related issues to be visible if an existing thread is showing signs of similarity to me (a bit like learning about chess from examples only and thinking each single distinct move the game makes the game issue on the board totally distinct per all such single move differences, versus trying to find patterns, but being a learner still ignorant of things, so making bets on similarities to explore more compact generalization hypotheses, for our small brains... yes. Everything is potentially connected to everything, it might be some kind of baby Occam razor intuition assumption, as a learner. Wow, I can ramble and make sense, but way to go, that shapeless noodle of text).

Ok. The Point is, I am sorry if my troubles pictured above are not related to the op and other posts topics in this thread. But maybe GUI questions, or user end questions, should consider alternate usage of the many Lichess GUI features and disambiguate for the likes of me. I try to do that a lot, and it might be difficult to read. But perhaps not such a bad thing in smaller dosage than mine.

I now assume there is a complementary user-case that I do not often visit about fast games (or slower but not my slower), where there is never analysis mode (except post-game). And no one ever uses the mouse scroll like me through their own game, as never playing games for long enough (correspondance), or do much postgame analysis that would make feedback thread statistically on top of the LIFO or most visible threads, in an infinite scroll pile up without condensed view for any one including the Lichess primary target audience (in feedback).

So this is a live game issue? And I should go play in my own traffic?

If it was github.com/lichess-org/lila/issues/16067, this should be fixed now. Can you please confirm?

ok. this is my issue. i just looked. yes. it appears it might be ijn the puzzles. I sometimes blur which analysis mode i might have been in. I will report back here next time i do puzlzes for long enough. . today. thanks.. even if not of this thread.

but my pic happenned yesteday too. if not that pic.. I remember giving up.. and my browser session going unresponsive again.

TTYL

PS: and yes it might be about some engine being turned on for my postpuzzle curiosity, left on, for the next..

EDIT=PS: my last day experience of the bug:
Puzzles • lichess.org - Personal - Microsoft Edge-2024-09-18 15_47_03. (EST)
I would have to crop that screenshhot. but it has the same freeze behavior and same kind of superposed piece problem

i thought i read your name in the archived thread about safari freezing bug so that's why i added your name to the ping in #1. the mobile layout change you linked was deliberate and devs don't consider it a bug.

I know right? Worst ”feature not a bug” ever.

Visit lichess.org/#debug and follow the instructions to submit the report. After that, try clearing site settings for lichess.org.

Settings -> Privacy -> Manage Website Data... -> select lichess.org -> click "Remove".

Restart your browser and see if that helps. (You'll have to login again).

Found something.
Seems linked to Safari's notifications in my case
If i remove Lichess from websites allowed to send web notifications, it seems to work again correctly (for now)
