@PLSDONTCLOSEMYACC
I appreciate your feedback, i really do!
What you see at the moment is our current events!
We also have various other things we do daily to keep the team active, which needs messages to alert our members.
But why should we have to be limited to 7 messages per week?
With the unsubscribe option available, there is no longer the need for such restrictions!
If there are other reasons, besides spamming, why the limit is 7 per week, i'd like to know!

If your team members really that faithful and excited to be in your team they would check if there were tournaments in your team page. 7 messages per week is plenty.

You're suggestion, which seems the obvious thing to do, just does not work!
We've tried it!
For a team such as THINK, the leaders would be writing the equivalent of a short novel each day!
Please, Lichess, we are not asking to have unlimited messages, just double the amount currently allowed!
wouldn't be harmful to write a short novel each day right rank?
u know, it improves your english and writing skills.
Just kidding :)

That's just not the real world. People need reminders. And they respond to reminders.
So, for example, when it comes to Liga games when we send out reminders when the game starts we get a lot more people join than if there are no reminders. We've actually got a great team that usually gets 15-20 people turnout every time, but if we get a poor turnout at the start and put out another message after 20 mins telling people we need more help then we often get a lot more people turn up.
We often just run quickie tournaments too when we see lots of members are online. That's something you have to do in the moment using a live message.
We regularly have a range of other tournaments going that are not 'lichess arenas' and based on our own system, so it's also not about looking at the events page to find out what's going on.
The long and short of it is that, in THINK, we have a great team and a great team spirit amongst our members and we often get to the point of running out of messages and it's really not good for the team as a whole. If people don't like how many messages we send they can just unsubscribe so why limit all the other members that would benefit.
Double the current limit would be fine.

Why don't you guys just upgrade to Lichess Premium for unlimited team messages? Let me give you the bitcoin address.
haha j/k. Here's the deal. I just did a GitHub search and found: https://github.com/lichess-org/lila/issues/9639
Now in case you can't be bothered to click links and read, the TLDR is: That is the guy who made lichess possible and continues to make it possible saying in no uncertain terms that 7 is the limit and it will not be changed. It doesn't seem that you're going to get the limit changed by posting here. Maybe tournament notifications as a separate feature a la https://github.com/lichess-org/lila/issues/9645 would help? That one is still open.
Looks like you're going to have to figure this one out on your own in the interim.

I guess one more message per day wouldn't be that harmful. Maybe the limit could be 3 per day but 14 per week. Therefore if one day you receive 3 messages there will be days where you receive only 1 or 0 team messages. The reason it was reduced was to stop spamming and there is an option to unsubscribe from team messages.
It is not a problem for me as I am not a leader of a team but it might be for some people who are leaders of big teams.
I think this is a great idea, and a good solution to the problem. Increases the limit, and still gives the option of sending a few messages for busy days, while still preventing a bunch of spam on a single day. Of course, most teams wouldn't need this, but it would be useful to some. Unsubscribing from messages is a thing, and if people feel that there are too many, they could just unsubscribe too.
Also, I think it would be good to have an application of some sort for more messages. Most teams wouldn't need this sort of thing, but the few active teams that do could apply for a status of some sort, which would allow them to go from the original limit to the one above.
But yeah, I see no reason why it shouldn't be changed, for some teams 7 messages a week is just not enough.

for most teams, the current limit of 7 should be fine, its probably so members dont get their inboxes spammed with messages. although in a lot of cases on a very active team an increase would probably be helpful. overall i dont see a good reason why the limit shouldnt be increased
