Hello everyone, good afternoon. Today, as I had a regular stream, I noticed that the viewer count was down. I was wondering why that was... It turns out that lichess didn't detect my stream for some reason. I had Lichess.org in the title as well, and I have a streamer page. I was streaming for about 100 minutes, and it didn't even detect me at all.
Can the lichess staff please fix this? Thanks!

For some reason Lichess can't detect Twitch streams in the evening hours (CET). Youtube streams seem to work properly.

Well, they have to fix it! The majority streams on twitch, which is a better and more organized platform then youtube when it comes to streaming.

No, it's not. In the evening hours (CET) Lichess shows none of the Twitch streams. Youtube only. And still, you don't restart your stream in the middle of it.

Is Lichess even aware of this issue?

Yes. As far as I understand we are being rate-limited by Twitch, so if they won't help us out, we would need to figure out another solution.

I don't see why would twitch help out the chess community. They clearly changed their politics because of other games and they have more then enough streamers. I am not sure if I understood well, but their "improved" API system is based on payment. Basically if the gaming sites wants the extra data and info, they have to pay. Twitch had a lot of server issues since the pandemic started so this is how they try to reduce the number of the streamers. This is all speculations by me and I only read once the forum related to their new politics. However, maybe it would be the most simple for streamers, to turn on their live button manually.
