I believe the e5 line simply refutes the stafford gambit and black actually has no fun tricks, I have been having headaches about the stafford for months now (thanks Eric Rosen). Here is the study:

@lc69
Very nice piece of work. Did you use an engine or just analyze without one for fun and learning ?
Ironically, I have played the Petroff for a long time, but I never heard of the Stafford until Eric Rosen's videos.
I would say it is probably good for Black for blitz, but your study looks good to me. Out of curiosity - what is the engine eval for the final position ?

@ambrooks i first analyzed with an engine and checked the d3 line and then played it and got mated horribly, then I sat around trying to find what is actually playable and doesn’t play into blacks hands (with an engine confirming it, looking for juman understandable moves not engine understandable moves), I think after Ne4, the lowest stock fish 13 gives as an eval is +2.3 (the d3 line is like +4 but I have personally found it very hard to play and defend like stockfish)
