Why are so many players all of a sudden refusing to play Black?

I like to be both. When you are white, it is more of play your usual game, and hope for blunders. While as black, you get to see your opponent and what he plays, and therefore you know how to follow up easily.

i like black better because i have a better understanding of openings to play as black but as white i only know about the italian

People who just want to play white and not black have got a lack of passion for the game of chess and prefer to have the advantage all the time. These players are just pathetic and useless. You’re better than them.

Thats one of the reasons why I almost exclusively play tournaments
