Friendly USA politics thread

Politics and friendly are strange words to use together.

Yes, well said. Some attempts have been made to derail the friendly discussion, and hopefully those have moved on.

This will remain a friendly political thread!

The first post in the thread claimed that Democrat leaders launched a failed coup and deserved to be sent to jail. I don't think it was ever particularly friendly.

Like jg777 said, politics and friendliness don't mesh. I believe that this is because politics often relies upon one's core beliefs, and if two people have differing core beliefs, neither one will give ground willingly.

#66 ...hardly a landslide..he got 3 million votes less than Hillary.

USA stock markets down sharply today..but as in all the bad stuff , Trump takes no responsibility.

Nice one unca donny !

The USA uses the electoral college voting, and this voting has been used in the USA for over 200+ years.

In 2016, Trump won 304-227, which is a landslide. My guess is that it'll be a much bigger landslide win in 2020!

As someone who deals with data on a daily basis, I feel obligated to point out the following: The 2016 election ranks as the 46th largest margin of victory out of 58 elections. That puts it in the bottom quartile in terms of victory margin, regardless of whether we include the two elections in US history that were decided by the legislature. Not exactly a landslide.

Just read this thread. So seems to me happy made an accusation against Obama, to start the thread. But then when asked to provide evidence he started to talk about general Flynn. Would it be fair to say the case is not proven?

And he kept calling me stupid and dumb when I wasn't even arguing. I just asked for proof and he lashed out at me. And he says OTHER people have been being unfriendly...

@mapleleaf

It certainly would. Would it be just too cheeky to suggest it was Fake News ?
