"Blitz games are not worthy of analysis, so useless for progress"

In my opinion, blitz games are less worthy of analysis compared to rapid and standard games, as the quality of the moves are inferior. However, going through blitz games can be beneficial, for example, for pin-pointing errors resulting by playing on instinct or shallow calculation. Learning from these mistakes can improve play in time trouble, in other time controls.

If you wanna blitz, start from Rapid 1st. If you're able to think fast enough, play Blitz!!

I wrote about the use of analysis of blitz games. You replied with a rather unrelated statement about whether to "start from" Rapid or Blitz. Could you explain why you downvoted my post?

Blitz is not worthy of analysis, take that from Nezhmetdinov.
It makes no sense to analyze a blitz game for longer than the game itself.
"less worthy"
If it is less worthy, then do not do it. Time is at a premium. Devote it to what brings most reward.

@tpr

I feel that analysing blitz games has been beneficial for my play. Whether it was the "most reward[ing]", I do not know, but personally, I find it useful.

I can actually agree that blitz is not worth analyzing. The only thing I think it's very good for is drilling your opening repertoire into your mind by playing over and over. In fact, from that perspective, it is VERY effective.

"drilling your opening repertoire into your mind"

  • There is no need to drill an opening repertoire into your mind.

Explain? People forget their repertoire moves all the time, and blitz is an effective way to make your openings instinct- if not good for anything else.
