Magnus and Nepo should both have been disqualified (and given no prize money) and banned from FIDE competition for one year for colluding to match fix. Duda and So should have then played for first and second place.
This brought the game of chess into disrepute.
I've been watching chess for 50 years, and I'm beyond livid.

Meanwhile, Ivanchuk and Naroditsky showed us what true fighting spirit is!

That would have been in the good old days of Comrade Brezhnev, and only if everyone was from the other side of the curtain.
Kek.

Magnus ASKED the Arbiter if they could be co-champions, and FIDE agreed to allow it.
If you insist on being "beyond livid" then your anger should be directed toward FIDE.

Oh, trust me, it is. But being incompetent and corrupt appears to have been FIDE's modus operandi approximately since Euwe relinquished the presidency, so I never have much hope for them doing the right thing.
But I did expect better from the players. Especially from Magnus "be a fuckin shark" Carlsen, who has been such a fierce competitor throughout his career.

Yeah I feel that. You know, Magnus got married today, I feel like this is the end of King Magnus and the beginning of a new era, with Gukesh and Murzin and other incredible rising stars. I feel sad more than anything, but what an incredible Decade+ to witness his greatness. Let's see what happens moving forward.
