Looking for structured improvement or just quick guidance?
I’m Praveen, Chess Mentor at MindMentorz Chess Academy (www.mindmentorz.com), with 10+ years of coaching experience working with both kids and adults.
I offer 1-on-1 online sessions (Zoom) focused on practical improvement, not memorizing lines or going through books blindly. My approach is simple: understand how you think, fix your decision-making, and build a process you can rely on over the board.
What you can expect:
• Clear feedback on your games (what you're doing wrong and why)
• Better calculation habits and pattern recognition
• Opening understanding (not just moves, but ideas)
• Practical thinking framework for real games
• Structured plans with realistic rating goals
In the first session, I usually play a couple of training games with you to assess your level. From there, we build a plan that actually fits your style and weaknesses.
Sessions are typically 60–70 minutes. Pricing is flexible depending on your requirement.

Other experiences
Father of twin boys, and a big part of my life outside chess revolves around family time and travelling with them. Managing two kids at the same age has taught me a lot about patience, communication, and adapting to different learning speeds and personalities.
Through this, I’ve developed a much better understanding of how kids stay engaged, what frustrates them, and what actually helps them improve without losing interest. It has directly influenced my coaching style. I focus more on clarity, structure, and making sure the student understands why they are doing something, rather than just following instructions.
Travel has also helped me interact with people from different backgrounds, which has made it easier for me to connect with students and parents alike. Overall, these experiences have made me a more practical, patient, and adaptable coach, especially when working with younger players.

Best skills
I focus on clear communication and maintaining a strong, accountable working relationship with each student.
My core areas are openings and middlegame play, specifically building a deep understanding of positional ideas and tactical patterns that actually translate into results.
I help students develop a reliable opening repertoire suited to their style, and more importantly, ensure they can consistently apply what they learn in real games. The goal is simple: reduce errors, improve decision-making, and push steadily toward higher rating milestones.
