Caro-Kann??? Hmm...

ChessOpeningTactics
Caro-Kann has many variations, from the classical to the new discover...

The Caro-Kann is quite interesting, but if you don't know how to play, then it will be a big trouble. And let's see the 1st thing:

1. The Silly Trap!!

Well, before showing you this, I will tell you a fact about me. I have fallen into this trap, maybe in a ultrabullet game??
Anyway, let's see!

But even this silly trap was almost used in a REAL tournament!!
https://lichess.org/hOTcnTPX

What?? How can +2.8 drop so fast?? White didn't see the g4!! And that was a master who missed that!! And finally, Black won!! Just imagine that if White played g4!! Then White could win, not Black!!
Ok, don't talk more about the silly trap, what about...

2. Alien Gambit!!

The creator is Volen Dyulgerov, aka Witty_Ailen. Don't talk about -1.8 advantage!! Talk about Black's Kingside!! You see White pieces seem to be more active than Black! And Black's King is in a dangerous place!!
Did I win with this opening?? Yes...

https://lichess.org/study/bYXWePbn/nMkgzDtf

Well, that was a bullet game. I missed some chances but I still won!! My opponent ran out of time, but even if Black didn't run out, I still won.
Did Witty_Ailen invent another one?? The answer is...

3. Martian Gambit!!

This is another Knight Sac variation., with -1.0. But wait... I have this...

https://lichess.org/study/bYXWePbn/nxN6Q8N1

I made this right?? Or someone has discovered this?? Never mind. Anyway, Black's Kingside is weaker in Martian than the Alien.

Look at this, Understand why it is -1.0?? Double pawn + weak Kingside!!

4. Conclusion...

The Caro-Kann is an interesting opening!! If I take a look about new openings or silly trap, they are just parts of chess games. For practicing, you can try to practice the Alien and Martian. And the silly trap.... don't expect your opponent is silly!!
Now, I play the Caro-Kann more than before, because... my mouse pointer is usually close to the c7-square. And I think the Sicillian seems to be complicated.
Caro-Kann, to me is simple and relaxing...
