Analyzing Games Based on Opening #7 - Colle System

ChessAnalysisStrategyOver the board
Analyzing super GM games everyday!

In this blog series, I analyze grandmaster chess games based on their openings, exploring the ideas, strategies, critical moments, and mistakes that shaped the game. Each post focuses on a different opening and breaks down how top players handle positions, create attacks, defend under pressure, and convert advantages at the highest level of chess. I write a simple summary of the game of the end too.

Game - 7 : K, Gerasimov vs Vasily, Smyslov ( 0-1 )
Event : Moscow Pioneer Home championship
This game, I did not do parts of 10 moves because the game itself is of 22 moves. You won't find this on the database, since this was played in 1935 when Smyslov was 14. But he still did not fail to surprise us.

Summary :
Smyslov's Bishop's pointed towards White's King-side although one of them were blocked at the start. The trades occured and the Bishop's diagonal was opened up, although White got 2 Pawns in the center. The Bishop assisted in a mating threat, which caused trouble, with Smyslov finding a Brilliant with Rd3.
