Carpe diem!

Off topic
“The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.”

Carpe diem! This means (roughly): "Capture the day!" and transformed into our way of speaking: "Make use of the day!" or "Use the day!"

So, here is a simple question: Did you use this day? No - really!! Did you use this very day, the day you are reading this blog-post, to it's fullest advantage? Did you have fun? Did you get the thing's done, you wanted to get done by now? If the aswer to these questions is "no", then you suffer from a problem. But not only you've got this issue - many people have this problem. In fact, I believe, that most people have the same problem: We simply don't use the day for things we really, really want to do. So, what can we do about this? Before answeing this question, we have to dig a little deeper and realize, why we don't use the day accordingly...

Some people may propose, that we can't use the day because of our jobs, due to our day-to-day duties. But that's a very lazy argument, as we still can use at least one third of the day after/ before work - we can use our free time! And then there are vacations - and you've got to admit: Not every vacation in your lifetime was the same: Maybe you were once in a foreing country and enjoying your time there and at another time you stayed home and enjoyed the vacation even more, feeling relaxed and fresh. So, I think that it isn't our job, that prohibits our access to happiness. But what a job can do is influence our usage of the day nontheless: If you hate your work, then it naturally affects your productivity and moreover you aren't happy to stay up the next day to go to the place you hate to do things you hate. Otherwise, a job you like can influence you to be more happy - even if you have to work hard and around the clock, it will affect your health and moreover - it will make you use a lot of time per day - for things you like to do!

So, if it ain't our duties, what could it be then? Our family? Our friends?

Strive for happiness - every single day of your life!
