Finding puzzles similar to positions from your own games

PuzzleChess
I built a free experimental puzzle training tool and wanted to share it with the community.

I’ve been experimenting with a small free training tool that connects recent Lichess games with relevant Lichess puzzles:

https://echopuz.com

I originally built it for my own use because I wanted to practice puzzles that were closer to the types of positions I actually reach in my games, rather than only solving random puzzles.

After discussing the idea with a few other chess players, I thought it might be useful to share.

The tool uses a public Lichess username, looks at recent public games, finds decisive moments, and then shows Lichess puzzles that seem similar to those positions.

The basic idea is:

  • use your recent games as the starting point
  • find critical positions from those games
  • look for Lichess puzzles with similar tactical or positional patterns
  • open and practice the puzzles directly on Lichess

Some matches may be useful and others may be less accurate but overall I think it is better than random puzzles.
This is a free personal tool that I am sharing. But, please let me know if it is still required to be labeled as promotional content (even though it is not for profit).
