A Big Step Forward: Shared 1st at K–12 Nationals
Shared First Place at the K–12 Nationals in SpokaneI’m excited to share a great result from the recent U.S. Nationals tournament in Spokane, Washington, which featured sections up to K–12.
My student Samanyu Alluri delivered an excellent performance and finished in shared first place in the K–4 section. Facing strong and experienced opposition, Samanyu played with confidence, fighting spirit, and good positional understanding throughout the event. After this tournament, his rating has risen to 2030+, an important milestone in his chess development.
This success continues a clear upward trend. Earlier this year, Samanyu also had a strong showing at the SuperNationals in Orlando, where he shared second place in the K–3 section. Seeing such consistent progress over time is always very rewarding — both for the player and the coach.
I’m very proud of Samanyu’s achievements so far and optimistic about what lies ahead. We hope this is just the beginning of many great results in the future.
