Yesterday I had this very bizarre 5+3 blitz game with a stranger. So I blundered big, and suddenly it was mate in 3. But my opponent did not move for 2 minutes. Why are you taking so long, I thought, just mate me! And then I finally noticed the chat board. He said, good game, I will give you a chance to surrender, smiley face smiley face. What an asshole! How about I ignore you. And so his countdown went on until there's like 30 seconds. He started clicking the "add 15 seconds" button like crazy, and I just watched my remaining time soar up to 20 minutes, and then 30 minutes! --What a hilariously desperate act of "senpai notice me"!
Then he moved and it was mate in 5. I moved. 5 seconds left for him. Then he moved and blundered his queen, and I took his queen. And then his time ran out.
