Lichess4545 Season 33 Wrap Up

Season 33 of the Lichess4545 league wrapped up two weeks ago.

Londoners against the system won the league title in a nail-biting finish to the season. Although they lost in round 2, they won all seven of their other matches! It all came down to their final match, with everything hanging on the line (see image further down). With a score of 4-3, one more loss would have dashed their hopes and handed the title to their opponents,Lucena's Revenge, on tie breaks. The winning team featured @bufferunderrun, @rojazu, @applebub, @Akibart, @T0Sharaff8200, @bushie123, @Waxy, and @greysensei, with @Elodonor and @quarkiomatic as alternate players who also contributed to the team's success.

Dead Pawns Society finished the season in second place with a final record of six wins and two losses. Their lineup included @frostypanda73, @CrazyMerlyn, @Astronominoff, @val1313, @JustChillJoe, @Ivory12, @MattHasFun, and @prostidude. Lucena's Revenge finished third overall with a roster of @rise_bishop, @root2, @dave3, @Drotciv, @esersens, @SaucySailorJackTar, @Pughie, and @Thaitanium101.

Congratulations to the deserving champions of Season 33! But wait, there's more awards to give! One of these is Marathon Mover which goes to @Lupo_Jones, who played a total of 429 moves the highest of any players. And lets not forget about Tetrarch of Time @mronemore, who used a total of 10:10:44 hours of their clock time.
