This is not a Kitten
Don't judge a book by the cover.A blog post needs a good thumbnail to get any attention, but unfortunately, Lichess doesn't allow us to create that thumbnail. Instead, the header image is used for that purpose. The advantage is that only one image is required, but that can be challenging enough for those who see themselves as writers rather than graphics designers.
I'm not a fan of AI generated images, but in my previous post, I used one. I thought it was a good move, because after just a few minutes of prompting, I got an image that connected to the contents. Except for the silly brain thing, it looked alright to me.
It didn't land well though. Horrible and unbelievable pathetic were some of the judgements. Here's the offensive image:

I have no desire to offend people, so I will stop using those images. Neither will I use pretty but unrelated photos or stock images. Instead, I'll use a generic and home made thumbnail, themed from my regular blog The Ordeals of a Club Player, with the blog post title in the middle.
If you find that offensive too, then go ahead and be offended.
My next post will be about chess, this is after all a chess site.
