Lichess Needs An Update

What's wrong?

By my observation Lichess recently lost, bloggers, famous players by variants, and a lot of cool community it had. The reason is platforms usually add huge updates, or features for people. Lichess did it, before. Especially right after COVID, when everyone moved to online world, it was a nice chance, to make a huge grow. Lichess added a lot of features, and a Horsey! The logo. Now I don't see any plans about new variants, modes or even engines. There is a nice place, - Lichess Feedback Forum, where people can ask for the features and problems, moderators usually answer, unfortunately that it's impossible, because of a huge change of scripts, and other problems.

The Flipping Board - YEET

It was a really cool April Fools feature, in moments of rage you can flip the board, with cool animations. People loved it, but now... silence. Everyone forgot about it, and I don't think people really click shift + f in moments of rage. Even though it's a traditional April Fools Lichess Feature. I still think this very hard update deserves more attention, after the 1st April. But it's unknown for the new players.

Taste Of Boredom

Old users, even 3 years, and the active ones, like me know Lichess 100%, every button, every setting... We could even use Lichess blindfolded. It makes no sense, you want to discover something new every day, but unfortunately it's impossible on Lichess. If we are going to use Lichess more and more without discovering new leagues, official teams, variants and more, it will fade away from our head. Many new people, who just joined Lichess, usually leave it in 5 minutes, and never even think about those 5 minutes spent here. So this way Lichess is loosing many active players participating in every Daily tournament and Marathon, full 24 hours. After loosing that person, joins the new one, plays few games, and leaves Lichess as I said. Total = -1 user. It's going slowly, but if the goal is to keep the Lichess until end of the world, in my opinion it's going to fail, unless another COVID.
