MY BEST TOURNAMENT!!!

BAHAMAS PARADISE

After all may playing in cuba i flew to bahamas to play a strong open tournament the Orjan Lindroth Memorial.
The event take place in the Breezes Resort in Nassau a 5stars great hotel , thats my views from the window

I used the first to review some openings and rest to start the tournament with energy.
In front of the hotel in the beach all the time was people riding jetskys but i decide only rent one if i earn a prize at the end of the tournament
The time table was 2 rounds each day.

Good Start

In the first round i face a 0 rating player so i won without so much difficulty cause i trapped his queen.

But in the second round start the hard tournament , i faced GM Elier Miranda who beat me 1 week before in Santa Clara.
He came with the carokan and i made a good preparación and i was playing so well taking the advantage but i should have played c4 first and after Bc3, i was thinking that Bc3 was winning but i miss my opponent defense and the game became so equal ending in a draw.
The same day in the evening i draw another GM but this time in the defensive side of the history suffering so much to made the half point.

Good Mornings Bad Evenings

During all the tournament but specially in the third day i felt that i play so much better in the mornings than in the evenings, but in the double rounds tournaments this use to be normal.
The day start so similar than the previous one, good prep with white vs a GM good middlegame having good position but some mistakes in a row leeds the position to equal and more pleasent for my opponent with a exchange down but i defend well and another draw.

In the evening i repeat white but this time versus a IM.
A boring game in my opinion, played the opening without putting any troubles on the pirc of my opponent and made a fast draw.

Second Victory

After 4 draws versus masters finally i played agains a low rated player and curiously this was the game that i was closer to lose, a Closed Sicilian where i should have played e5 instead of e6 but in the end i calculate better than my opponent to take the point.

In the seventh round i faced GM Omar Almedia who beat me 1 week ago to and the game goes so similar than the round 2 and 4. I was playing so so good reaching a winning position but i cannot manage to convert and mading a draw.

Unbeaten vs 2600s

I’m in a good position with 4.5/7 points and a great performance but the last day was the most difficult.
In the morning i played versus the Multiple Open Tournaments winner GM Brandon Jacobson and the game start so bad for me reaching a bad position after a Nimzo with a b8 trapped knight , im still don’t know how i developed this knight but i manage to do that and after a hard fight i made another draw.

After this game i had earned the norm without need any points in the last round so that’s great but i need to made a draw at least in the last round to take a prize so i was so focus on the game.
And to end great the tournament i faced the 1Ranking the Famous GM Alcantara better known like Jospem who beat Kramnik in a match the last year.
In a complex spanish middlegame i had 2 opportunities to take a advantage but was so difficult to understand and the other problems is that i had many ways to play , after trade the queenside paws and my bishop pair we repeat moves in a more less equal position.

4th, Norm, 875$ and a Jetsky ride

I’ve finished the tournament in the fourth position ahead of many grand masters and unbeaten who always is so dificult facing 7 masters.
I made my second IM norm with a huge rating increase and i earn 875$ who help me so much to pay the rent in barcelona, but of course like i said at the start my plans was rent a jetsky if i earn money so the last morning i made a dream true and i ride a jetsky in bahamas, incredible.
